PROS to Present at Grace Hopper Conference, World’s Largest Gathering of Women in Technology

Blaze, the PROS women’s network, to host invitation-only reception

HOUSTON, Oct. 10, 2016 – PROS® (NYSE: PRO), the revenue and profit realization company, today announced its participation in the Grace Hopper Conference for Women in Computing. The event, which will be held in Houston for the second consecutive year, is scheduled for Oct. 19-21 at the city’s George R. Brown Convention Center. The conference is the world’s largest gathering of women technologists, with more than 15,000 expected to participate.

“PROS is a destination company for women in technology who are passionate about making a material and measurable impact for customers around the world,” said PROS President and CEO Andres Reiner. “It’s a great honor to have three members of BLAZE, the PROS women’s network, representing the company as speakers at the Grace Hopper Conference.”

“As a gold sponsor, we’ll have BLAZE members available to meet with conference participants at our booth to hear firsthand about PROS, our culture and their experiences of working for Houston’s largest publicly traded cloud company,” said PROS Vice President, Strategic Consulting, Tonya DeWeese. “Our reception also offers opportunities for guests to speak with an expanded PROS team. We encourage participants interested in learning more about the company to join us.”

Three BLAZE members will deliver presentations at the conference:

  • Setareh Mardan, Ph.D., a member of the company’s science team, will deliver a poster presentation titled “How to Identify Customers Likely to Churn,” based on her research and PROS patent-pending technology. Her case study illuminates the challenges of a medical equipment distributor with hundreds of thousands of products and customers. Mardan will showcase how PROS predictive analytics combine churn analysis and customer buying patterns to identify the most valuable, at-risk customers. She will reveal the investment result that could save the company $3-$8 million if a conservative percentage of the flagged customers were saved from churning.
  • PROS Content Strategist Emily Zinsitz and co-presenter Samantha O’Dell of Salesforce.com will deliver six round-table presentations in the Student Opportunity Lab. They will share the fundamentals of their work as technical writers who manage at ground zero for product knowledge. The two will showcase the diverse skills and connections developed through this trade that can super-charge careers on the business or technical sides of the industry.
  • PROS Senior Software Engineer Karis Ng will join forces with Aon Hewitt’s Vanessa Hernandez and Melissa Koch, director of content and curriculum with the Anita Borg Institute. Together they will provide career-building guidance with local leaders and women technologists.

BLAZE will co-host an opening night reception with Sapient Global Markets on Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. in downtown Houston near the convention center. To participate, visit the website.
